The most prominent advantages of spiral welded steel pipes are their large diameter and economic efficiency.
Good pressure resistance: The spiral weld disperses the circumferential stress of the pipeline. Combined with double-sided submerged arc welding, the weld strength is high, and the deformation resistance is strong, making it suitable for laying in areas with complex geological conditions.
High adaptability of raw materials: By adjusting the forming angle, steel strips of the same width can be used to produce steel pipes of different diameters, resulting in a high yield and lower production costs than seamless steel pipes.

Limitations: Due to the longer weld seam, its pressure-bearing capacity is slightly lower than that of straight-seam submerged arc welded pipes of the same material and wall thickness. It is generally used for medium- and low-pressure fluid transportation and is not suitable for ultra-high pressure or supercritical conditions.
